In 2022, the school’s Grade 5 scholarship exam results are at the best they have been in five years, and the school’s population has increased
The students were taught how to use the donated equipment, and applications such as MS Paint and MS Word to help further their studies
The school now has access to the internet and are able to use online spaces to communicate with each other, carry out administrative work and organise engaging lessons
In 2021, the school achieved their best results in G.C.E O/L exams with record scores in the school’s history. Previously, the school’s pass percentage was below 60%. After our donations, this number has increased to 73%
The school has conducted additional ICT classes on Saturdays and school holidays to teach students how to use the donations to their full capacity
The school also used donated equipment for official tasks, such as filing scholarship applications and applying for mandatory textbooks and resources

The schools used the donated equipment to forward information to the Education Department online; this has allowed them to apply for school textbooks and other resources, as well as participate in the Education Department’s Zoom meetings
The donations have also helped the schools with commemorative activities, like helping students put on concerts for their peers
The donated equipment have vastly improved the teaching techniques and standard of education. For example, in 2022, 6 students passed their grade 5 scholarship exam. For the Mabopitiya Primary School, this is a record number.
Now with access to working computer technology, teachers are able to use stories and videos online as teaching tools during lessons

According to the Principal, the donated technology is a highly effective tool in teaching ICT, science, mathematics, Sinhalese, aesthetics and other primary classes.
Grade 10 & 11 students have taken the initiative to develop a website for the school
The donated equipment is also used to play music during student’s physical education lessons, as well as for school assemblies.
The equipment is also used for official duties, such as administration work.
Grade 1 and 2 students are now able to use the donated equipment to watch stories and videos during lessons

Internet access allows teachers to correspond with each other via email and forward applications for exams online.

The grade 10 and 11 students, who were unable to study ICT as a subject earlier, are now able to study basic computer courses
In the year 2022 the school’s population has been at its highest since the last 5 years
The school used the donated technology to apply for Grade 5 Scholarship exams, G.C.E. O/L exams, G.C.E. A/L exams, and also to apply for school books. They also participate in the Zoom meetings organized by the Educational Department.
The G.C.E. O/L exam pass percentage has increased year by year, during past 3 years. Pass percentages are given below;
In 2019 the percentage was 75%, which increased to 80% in 2020, and in 2021 the percentage increased further to 92.3%
In 2018 they were able to advance from their original 15th place in their zone to 1st place, after our donations. Not only is this an incredible achievement from the school, but it is a clear demonstration of the potential that computer technology can enable students to reach
The students, who are studying ICT as subject, can now conduct their practical work; before our computer donations, they were unable to do any practical work.
