Under the Tech Mission to Sri Lanka project, three laptops were donated to Nynodaya Maha Vidyalaya – Kalutara through the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT). Former student and Vice-Chancellor Professor Prasanna Premadasa donated the laptops to the school and was the chief guest.

“Tech Mission to Sri Lanka” marks a major milestone with the opening of an AI Computer Lab at the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT), inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
Tech Mission to Sri Lanka is a collaboration between the University of Vocational Technology, Findex Australia, and ALTEA Association. UoVT empowers students with advanced AI skills, modern digital infrastructure, and industry focused training to build future ready technology professionals in Sri Lanka.

In a remarkable effort to support education and digital inclusion, 1,400 laptops have been sent to Sri Lanka under the “Tech Mission to Sri Lanka” charity initiative. This project is a collaborative effort between the ALTEA Association, Findex Australia, and the University of Vocational Technology. The laptops will be distributed among disaster-affected schools, rural schools, universities, and vocational training centers to help students access modern technology and learning opportunities. This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and empower the next generation through education, innovation, and community support.
Two laptops were donated by the ALTEA Association, to two Rajarata University students from Kalankuttiya Village in the Anuradhapura District of Sri Lanka, namely R.M. Yohani Dhananjana and R.M. Yohan Dhananjaya, who studied at Thabuttegama Central College.
Three laptops were generously donated by the ALTEA Association to the St. Anne’s Social Services Association in Wattala, Sri Lanka, to support the conduct of free computer courses for students. This association has been conducting free IT courses for students over the past three years.
